I hate that Sooric was ever even on the table as a couple for fans to get invested in. It would have been awesome to have had Eric in some sort of a will-they-wont-they relationship with another vampire that was built up and made legit from the start so that he could be himself. Instead we got a neutered version of Eric that couldn’t have disappeared soon enough and an obvious Bill/Sookie end game from the start. So much wasted potential for Eric’s character.

I love Pam and Eric and I want the series to end with them going off and exploring the world together as the badass duo that they are. But I don’t want them to get together romantically. They love each other deeply and have done so for a century, but just because they have such a great love for each other does not mean that love has to be romantic. I prefer the relationship they have now, because it’s so much better than a romance as it’s so unique to them. Romance feels too ordinary for Paric

I liked the conversation between Sookie and Jason while she was waiting for the results because it revolved around the very real concept of loving someone while not being “in love” with them. Sookie loves Alcide and Eric to a certain extent but Bill is the love of her life. She tries to convince herself that it’s just because Bill was her first but even Jason recognizes that it’s deeper than that.

I’ve always been a Sooric shipper but honestly I don’t want them to get together at all. Sookie loves Bill and she will always do because he was her first love even with all the mess they’ve been through. And as much as I’d love Sooric to end up together, I think Pam is the one who deserves Eric more than anything. She has been always there for him for over a hundred years and still is! Paric FTW!

Those who say Sookie’s love for Eric was conditional while Pam’s was not need to rewatch s4/the s4 featurettes that Pam narrates (you can watch them on Youtube). In the featurettes in particular, it is heavily implied that Pam does not like the softer Eric, which is just as much a part of who Eric is as the killing machine side of him. Pam & Sookie are actually the same in reverse: they love him both ways, but while Sookie appears to only want him when he’s kind, Pam only wants him when he’s not
