Maybe it was only me but I really didn’t like this last episode. Jess and Hoyt’s wedding out of the blue was weird as fuck, through I do understand it was to see Bill happy before he dies, I didn’t like it. When I stop to really think about it, the highline of the series finale was Eric movin’ his head to music, which entertained me in the 10 seconds he was doin’ it more than the whole Bill’s death scene. For real, I expected more. Right now I feel a hole inside of me and I don’t know what to do.

I know a lot of people were angry with the Series Finale but I personally thought it was a great ending. Almost everyone got what it was they really desperately wanted throughout the show. Sookie has a family, Bill is with his wife and family, Jason is a father to a load of kids, Jessica is married to Hoyt, Lafayette is in a relationship with James, Holly and Andy are married, Arlene is happy with Keith, And Pam and Eric are filthy rich and together. Which is all I wanted for them at the start.

I think it was a mistake to bring Hoyt back, especially if they choose to pair him with Jessica again. True Blood (and many other shows) like to constantly fall back on characters always being with their “first love”, even when it isn’t always the best option for the characters. Jessica had it perfectly right when she told Hoyt that they were not compatible and explained that they had moved too quickly. Jessica, as her human self, would have been a perfect match for Hoyt, but as a vampire, she is not. He can’t handle that relationship.
I used to love Hoyt, but I quickly grew to hate his character because of the way he behaved after his break-up with Jessica. He had every right to be angry about the cheating, but going as far as to actually CONSIDER killing Jessica (even though he did, thankfully, change his mind, he still considered it) was completely foul and vile. And the things that he said to her about how he shouldn’t have to be with someone who was dead, and an eternal virgin, and could never have kids was so terribly cruel given the fact that Jessica was robbed of her humanity and turned against her will. And despite all the horrific things he said and did after their break-up, Jessica never spoke ill of him. She always upheld him as a wonderful man. I hate his character now, because they turned sweet Hoyt into a monster, and yet they still try to make him pitiable. I wish they had never brought him back.
